OUR HORMONE BLOOD TEST WILL HELP
What is a blood test for female hormones?
A female hormone blood test measures levels of key reproductive hormones, such as oestradiol, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinising hormone (LH), and testosterone.
Hormones rarely function in isolation, and often there are other underlying imbalances influencing your symptoms. For this reason we also include other important markers in our female hormone blood test, such as inflammation, blood sugar, nutrient status, thyroid function and more.
This allows us to get the full picture of your health and investigate symptoms such as acne, fatigue, irregular periods, infertility, PCOS, or menopause symptoms.
Who would benefit from a hormone blood test?
Our advanced hormone blood test can offer insights into any imbalances, nutrient deficiencies or root causes that could be contributing to the following symptoms, health conditions or situations:
PCOS / PMOS
PCOS (now named PMOS) is a whole-body condition. A comprehensive PCOS blood test can help find the root cause of symptoms such as acne, facial hair, hair loss, stubborn weight gain, cravings, low energy, irregular periods and infertility - and prevent further health complications.
Painful or Irregular Periods
Hormonal and blood marker testing can be vital in finding the root cause of your symptoms, and the first step to getting the care or referral you may need. If you have endometriosis or PCOS this test is invaluable.
Fertility
Evaluating your female hormones and overall health can help to identify imbalances that could impact your fertility goals or pregnancy. Whether you are thinking about fertility, been trying to conceive for some time, or have upcoming IVF - our fertility blood test will give you answers and maximise your success.
PMS & PMDD
Underlying hormone imbalances, nutrient deficiencies and thyroid function can all impact the symptoms experienced with PMS and PMDD. This blood test can form part of a wider support program.
Skin & Hair Changes
Acne, hair thinning and excess body and facial hair can be driven by hormone imbalances, thyroid dysfunction, nutrient deficiencies, or high cortisol. A comprehensive blood test helps identify these imbalances and if any underlying conditions like PCOS or thyroid disease are present.
Fatigue
Persistent fatigue, especially experienced alongside other symptoms like weight changes, mood swings or menstrual issues, can be a clear sign your hormones and health need investigating with a female blood test.
Many women organise this female hormone blood test to have full health MOT so they can thrive in all areas of their life, even without any of the symptoms listed above.

The female hormone blood test assesses 57 bio-markers
This isn’t just your average hormone blood test - we’re looking at all the health markers that can impact your hormone balance and chronic symptoms. This includes:
Sex Hormones
FSH, LH, oestrogen and prolactin give us insights into follicle development and ovulation in the early stage of your menstrual cycle - crucial for a healthy regular menstrual cycle and fertility.
Nutrient Status
Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, folate, iron and ferritin monitors the level of nutrients essential for energy, immunity, skin, hair health and fertility.
Metabolic Health
Inflammation, blood sugar and cholesterol gives us a picture of your metabolic health, and risk of chronic conditions like heart disease or diabetes.
Full thyroid function
TSH, T4, T3 and thyroid antibodies can contribute to weight gain, hair loss or infertility. Your GP may only test TSH and will rarely include antibodies.
Androgen Profile
Testosterone, SHBG, DHEA-s and FAI can all contribute to symptoms of excess facial hair, hair loss, acne, or irregular periods.
Stress response
Cortisol can be raised in chronic stress, but it can also point to other health conditions that may warrant further investigations.
Health markers
Full blood count including red blood cells, white blood cells, liver function and kidney health - for a complete health picture.

Hormone Blood Test FAQs
-
We want you to get the most out of your blood test results, receive clarity on how they connect to your symptoms and feel confident making positive changes to your diet, lifestyle and supplement routine. Unfortunately we wouldn’t be able to offer any of that outside of a nutrition consultation
-
Hormone imbalances rarely occur on their own. By measuring other health markers, like inflammation, blood sugar and nutrient status, alongside general hormone tests, we provide a more comprehensive picture of hormonal imbalances, to help you find the root cause of your symptoms. This is what sets up apart from other health testing companies.
-
Our blood test will identify any hormone imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, how well your thyroid functions, in there’s any chronic inflammation or stress, and so much more.
-
As this is an advanced panel, it will require you to visit one of our blood test partner clinics. There are hundreds around the UK, however if it’s easier for you, we can arrange a nurse to visit your home instead.
-
To ensure the sex hormone-part of the test is as accurate as possible, you will need to have this blood test between cycle days 2-5 (day 3 is optimal). If you haven’t had a natural period in 3 months, you can test on any day.
-
Ideally the blood test will be done before 10am.
-
It is best to wait 2 months after stopping hormonal birth control to test your hormones. If you are not planning on coming off birth control, we can arrange the blood test without the sex-hormones and you will still benefit from all the other markers.
-
All of our blood test results include a report from a fully qualified Doctor. Rest assured, if required, we will promptly make a referral to your GP for any out-of-range test results that may require a diagnosis, or symptoms you’re experiencing that require further medical investigation. This ensures you get the appropriate help much quicker.
-
We are currently only able to offer this blood test to those who reside in the UK. Our other services or testing options may be more suitable. Get in touch to find out how we can help.
-
We’re proud to share that our hormone blood test is a similar price as many other hormone tests on the market, but with 5 x the markers. Due to the complexity of this blood test, we only offer it as part of our Well Woman Health Check where you will receive a 1 hour consultation, health optimisation plan and Whatsapp support. You can find out more here.
-
This particular test is currently only available privately. The NHS have limits on which tests and the type of tests they can provide which is why many people opt for a test like this instead.
-
The results take approximately 1 week, once they have been prepared by the lab and the Doctor has written their report.
